Kids on a Fire Truck

What could be more fun for a bunch of kids than going for a ride on a vintage fire truck. From the Cedars West Arts Festival.

  1. These pictures bring back a wonderful memory. For one of my Dad’s birthdays they had a vintage fire truck from a pizza parlor come and pick him up and we rode it all the way across town! Felt like a celeberty! LOL.

  3. My boyfriend just sold his vintage NYFD firetruck that he fully restored twelve or so years ago. He traveled from California to New York to acquire it, and spent a day with the guys at the firehouse that had once used the old girl. He was given a huge plaque of photos of all the current firemen there, invited to stay and have a good, ole firehouse meal, and so on. Not only have scores of children ridden it for birthday parties and such (nothing could extinguish the light in their eyes after a ride like that!) but so did the five New York City firemen who rode cross country on bicycles to California sometime after 9/11… they rode the truck as heroes down the streets of Pasadena, California. These days, we look at the plaque and remember all who were lost at the World Trade Center. That old truck got to ride in many a commemorative parade through the years, as you can imagine. An honor to own her. 🙂
