1/9 Cav. First Cavalry Division/9th Brigade, who were actually Buffalo Soldiers — Black troops. We didn’t fly those ancient Sikorskis. We flew UH-1s. Hueys. I flew Medivac missions for the 223rd Aviation Brigade attached to the 1/7 Cav. Custer’s troops. He was an idiot.

Really interesting. On the weekends in downtown Dallas it’s surprising how often you see helicopters flying heavy loads to the tops of skyscrapers.
I think those ar still Jolly Greens. Powerful enough to rescue a downed Huey, or move artillery.
One time there was a Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane. Pretty impressive.
